Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi is a natural island turned recreational hub situated in the heart of the city. Defined by its striking skyline, Al Reem is easy to spot thanks to the iconic Gate Towers and shimmering high-rises, but it’s the growing list of things to do that makes this island a must-visit.
It’s the kind of place where you might start your morning with coffee at a cafe in the Shams Boutik mall, stroll through the native flora of Al Fay Park, then drift into a breezy afternoon at Reem Beach (with or without a stand-up paddleboard). Perhaps you'll explore the Reem Mangrove Forest nature preserve by foot or by kayak and stroll along the canal, or grab hotdogs and ice cream at Reem Central Park, an expansive recreational area where families buzz around food trucks, skate parks, playgrounds and courts.
Feeling a little warm from all the excitement? You could always cool things down at Snow Abu Dhabi in Reem Mall, one of the world’s largest indoor snow parks, where it’s winter all year round. And if you need some retail indulgence, you’re just a bridge away from the Galleria Mall on neighbouring Al Maryah Island. Explore Reem Island as a quick stop after Al Maryah and Saadiyat Island, or make it a full-day event. Reem Island is oh-so chilled out, and it’s up for anything you are.
